Hennef around 1900
The industrial revolution in Hennef began in the middle of the 19th century with the construction of the Siegtalstraße, the Bröltal-Bahn and the Deutz-Gießener-Eisenbahn. Thanks to its good transport connections, the location prospered and the Hennef railroad station was inaugurated in 1860. By the turn of the century, several large companies had been established in Hennef, bringing much-needed new jobs to the region.
